Locke’s Promise: A New Chapter in MS Advocacy
When Locke’s Promise, Inc. first came to life, it wasn’t something meticulously planned—it was built from the deep need to do more. Six years ago, I never envisioned myself as an advocate, let alone leading a nonprofit devoted to supporting those affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). But through the journey of growing Climb the Peak for MS, witnessing how many lives we were able to touch, and seeing the overwhelming community support, it was clear: this work had to expand beyond just one event—it had to become something lasting and impactful.
A Mission Rooted in Community
Today, we are thrilled to launch our official website and share our mission with the world. Locke’s Promise isn’t just about hosting events—it’s about creating a sustainable support network for those living with MS across New England. With at least 2,500 individuals affected in New Hampshire and 25,000 across New England, we know there is an incredible opportunity to ensure that resources stay local, that help reaches the people who need it most, and that no one living with MS in this region feels alone.
While national organizations provide crucial research and advocacy, the reality is that many individuals facing MS need direct financial assistance, educational opportunities, and community connections that go beyond large-scale initiatives. Locke’s Promise is dedicated to filling those gaps by reaching into markets that are often overlooked, ensuring support goes directly to individuals and families navigating the challenges of MS every day.
Applying for Grants to Provide Our Own Financial Assistance
To maximize our impact, Locke’s Promise will be actively applying for grants that allow us to build a fund specifically designed to support those living with MS in New England. These funds will enable us to provide financial grants to individuals and families, helping them cover essential expenses such as:
✅ Medical costs and treatment support
✅ Mobility aids and accessibility modifications
✅ Mental health resources and wellness programs
✅ Educational and occupational resources
Unlike national funds that may take time to filter down to local communities, our goal is to ensure that donor dollars and grant funding stay within our region, directly benefiting those who need immediate assistance and long-term support.
Looking for Regular Donors to Drive Lasting Change
While grants will help us build a solid foundation, regular donors will be the lifeblood of this mission. We are actively seeking dedicated individuals and businesses who want to make a tangible difference in the lives of those with MS by supporting Locke’s Promise through consistent, recurring donations.
These contributions will help us:
🔹 Fund financial grants for individuals living with MS
🔹 Host educational seminars and community workshops
🔹 Expand outreach and provide local resources
🔹 Ensure that advocacy, awareness, and support remain a priority in New England
A one-time donation is powerful—but a consistent, recurring commitment can drive lasting change for those who rely on these essential services.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Locke’s Promise isn’t just an organization—it’s a movement. We are actively seeking board members, volunteers, and community champions who want to stand with us, build something greater, and make sure that no one living with MS ever feels alone.
If you are passionate about supporting the MS community in New England, we invite you to be part of our journey—whether through volunteering, donating, advocating, or simply sharing our mission. It truly takes an army, and we would love for you to be part of it.
Together, we will never MS alone.
